Great read, Phil.

I have just finished reading Bill Gates' book where he talks about emissions like a bath. Our atmosphere (or the bath) can only hold so much. Water is flowing into the bath. If we achieve greater efficiency, we're turning the tap off slightly, so the rate of flow is slower. But the bath is still filling up; it will just take longer until the water reaches the top and the bath over flows. Only turning off the tap completely stops us from having a catastrophic flood. I found that a really powerful explanation that really helped colleagues to understand the problem.

That and the recent freak snow in Madrid. We had colleagues that happened not to have any supplies in the house when it snowed. The city is so unused to snow that they couldn't get to the supermarket. It was days before they had anything to eat. Again, my colleagues saw that climate change was coming closer to home and we had to get a grip on emissions.

Really powerful article. Thanks!
